The Back Nine of Indoor Golf | AMGC Winter Garden Plays the Whole Round

September 23, 2026•6 min read

Most Indoor Golf Is Just the Back Nine. AMGC Plays the Whole Round.

Most indoor golf is just the back nine.

You know the night. You book a bay. You smash balls at a screen. Friends. Music. A cold drink if you brought one. You leave feeling like you “practiced,” even though nothing about your miss got clearer.

That is fine. It is also only half the round: the hang without the training.

If that is all you wanted, plenty of rooms will sell it to you. If you want the hang and a place that actually helps you get better midweek, you need the front nine too.

Athletic Motion Golf Club plays the whole round. Front nine for performance. Back nine for the hang. Winter Garden. Right off Colonial Avenue. Home of Athletic Motion Golf.

Who this is for

This post is for the golfer who likes indoor golf but is tired of leaving with the same miss.

You might be:

  • A midweek player who wants a room you can count on when heat and storms kill the outdoor range
  • Someone who enjoys playing courses on a sim with friends, but also wants real numbers on the swing
  • A member-minded golfer looking for a club feel, not a one-off party bay
  • A player who wants lessons, practice, fitting, and hang in the same building

If you only want smash-and-hang, keep scrolling. If you want the whole round, keep reading.

The back nine is the hang. We still have it.

Eight private bays. TrackMan 4 in every bay. Titleist Pro V1 practice balls. Slow-motion video you can send to your phone.

You can play 400+ courses. You can work a range. You can bring your people and actually enjoy the hour.

That is the back nine. We are not talking you out of it.

A night-out entertainment room can do hang. The difference at AMGC is that the hang sits next to a real training stack. Not instead of it.

The front nine is the training most rooms skip

Performance. The work that makes the hang mean something.

Here is what “front nine” means on site. In plain English, benefit first:

TrackMan 4 is Tour-grade dual radar and camera. Forty-plus club and ball numbers. Full-flight tracking when you are outdoors, serious practice data when you are indoors. Same stack in every bay. So your midweek session and your lesson hour speak the same language.

GEARS 3D is multi-camera optical motion capture of body and club. Sub-millimeter 3D replay. Not phone slo-mo. Available in instruction sessions when you want the body picture. Not every casual bay hour.

Force plates sit under your feet. They show how you push the ground for power and balance. On-site club tech. Not a special booking line, and not something we pretend is “monitoring every party hour.”

SAM PuttLab is ultrasonic putting analysis and putter fitting. Seventy-plus stroke parameters. Tour comparisons. Pair it with the platform under your feet. Do not confuse the two.

PLATFORM Golf TrueSlope digitally tilts under you. Uneven lies. Real breaking putts. Not a forever-flat mat. It plugs into the same sim and analysis stack, so practice can feel more like golf and less like carpet.

Slow-mo video in the bay catches what the eye misses. It supports coaching and self-review. It is not a substitute for GEARS.

True Spec Golf - Orlando West is on location for brand-agnostic custom fitting. Heads and shafts by data, not a single logo wall. Soft path: club fitting.

World-class instruction lives here because AMGC is home of Athletic Motion Golf. Mike Granato and Shaun Webb built the method. Soft path: book a lesson or train with an AMG Certified Instructor through membership.

What a first visit can look like

You do not need a membership to walk in. A first visit is usually one of these:

  1. Bay time. Book a private TrackMan bay, warm up, play a course or work a range, send a couple swings to your phone.
  2. Lesson. Book instruction, walk in with one miss, leave with a clear thing to practice.
  3. Fitting. Book True Spec Golf - Orlando West on site if the bag might be part of the problem.
  4. Membership tour. If you already know you want regular midweek hours, look at the live membership cards and pick the plan that matches how often you show up.

What to bring: clubs, shoes without metal spikes or nubs, and the one miss you care about. What not to expect: a tip pile, a guaranteed handicap drop, or GEARS in every casual hour.

The facility is set up for right-handed players. Winter Garden is home base. Golfers also come from Orlando, Windermere, Clermont, Ocoee, and Horizon West.

What’s included vs what’s not

Included in the club experience (depending on what you book):

  • Private bay time with TrackMan 4
  • Titleist Pro V1 practice balls
  • Slow-motion video / send-to-phone
  • Access to 400+ courses on the sim stack
  • On-site force plates and TrueSlope as club tech where that bay/session uses them
  • Instruction and fitting available in the same building (separate bookings)

Not automatic in every casual bay hour:

  • GEARS 3D (instruction sessions when booked that way)
  • A fitting (True Spec books separately)
  • A lesson (book separately or through membership perks)
  • Outdoor range weather control (we’re indoor. That is the point)

Membership is for regular hours and member savings. Including discounted lessons with an AMG Certified Instructor. Not a night-out pass. Live plan cards and rules live on memberships. We do not invent prices here beyond pointing you to that page when you are ready.

Front nine + back nine

You come to get better. You stay because the room feels like yours.

Same building. Same people. Practice, play, fit, train, hang. That is why members call it the Barbershop. Not a slogan we invented for ads. Their word.

If this becomes your midweek, membership is the path for regular hours. Discounted lessons with an AMG Certified Instructor are part of that path.

Quick answers

What does “the back nine” mean here?
A golf metaphor. Not another business. Back nine = the hang (smash, friends, screens). Front nine = performance and training. Most entertainment-style sim rooms are just the back nine. AMGC plays the whole round. We do not name other businesses.

Is AMGC only a practice lab?
No. You can play 400+ courses, work the range, hang with friends, and still have Tour-grade data in the bay.

What is TrueSlope?
PLATFORM Golf TrueSlope. A digitally tilting platform under your feet for uneven lies and breaking putts. Not a flat mat forever.

Does every bay hour include GEARS 3D?
No. GEARS is available in instruction sessions when you book that way. A regular practice hour is TrackMan and video.

Do I need a membership to visit?
No. Membership is for regular hours if this becomes your week. See memberships and facility.

Can I get fit and take a lesson in the same building?
Yes. True Spec Golf - Orlando West does fittings on site. Book lessons at lessons. Separate bookings.

Is this better than an outdoor range in summer?
Indoor does not replace the course. It protects the hour when heat and storms kill outdoor practice. Then you take what you learned outside and play golf.
