Indoor Golf Practice Near Clermont | TrackMan at AMGC

October 16, 2026•8 min read

So you're in Clermont, you want somewhere indoors to practice, and you probably already have places nearby where you can swing a club, but what you may not have is a quiet room with a monitor that'll tell you straight what your ball is doing. That's usually what gets someone to make the drive east into Winter Garden.

And if you're making the drive, you want it to count for something.

That's kind of the whole idea of this post. We'd like the trips to add up over a month instead of each one being a nice hour you forget about, and honestly the session that matters most is probably your fourth one, when you pull up your week one numbers and can actually see whether anything moved.

Athletic Motion Golf Club is in Winter Garden, right off Colonial Avenue, with eight private bays and TrackMan in every one of them.

You're not looking for a night out

If what you want is a Saturday night with a screen, some friends and a drink special, there are rooms built for exactly that, and good for them, but you typed the word "practice," so we're guessing that's not this trip.

You probably don't want the bucket range either, where you rake ball after ball and drive home with sore hands and a couple of brand new swing thoughts you didn't have that morning. It feels like work. It isn't really practice though.

Really you just want to come in and work on one thing, and then know when you leave if it did anything or not.

The trip-worthy session: one miss, one number

Before you leave the house, pick one miss. Just one. Maybe it's the iron you keep catching thin, or maybe it's the driver that leaks right on you, it doesn't really matter which as long as you pick it before you get in the car and not once you're standing in the bay.

Then pick a number that'll tell you the truth about that miss. Ball coming up short? Watch carry, that's kind of the thing you're trying to fix anyway, and if it's curving on you then face and path are probably more useful. You don't have to get everything on that screen, nobody's going to quiz you on it. You need one number, and you need to stick with it for the whole hour.

Here's roughly how the hour goes, give or take.

Warm up loose and don't stare at the screen yet. Seriously, leave it alone for a few minutes.

After that, grab the club that shows your miss and hit a handful at your normal pace, and jot down where your number lands, because that's your baseline and you're going to want it later. Don't fix anything yet. We know you'll want to.

Okay. Now make one change, whatever your hunch is, and hit a few more. Check the number. If it moved the right way you keep it, and if it didn't, toss it and try something else, because what you're hunting for here is a number that moves and keeps moving, which is a lot less glamorous than hunting for the perfect shot but it's what pays off.

For the last few minutes, switch to a different club and see if the feel holds up there too. Then stop, even if you're having fun. Before you walk out, type one line into your phone with the miss, the number, and whatever feel moved it.

The Clermont payoff: stack four weeks, not one hour

Maybe you've been in before, for a lesson or a bay with your buddies, or maybe you haven't. Either way the real question for someone coming from Clermont probably isn't whether the room is any good. It's how you turn a trip east into something you keep doing.

Our answer is to work the same miss for four straight weeks.

Week one you get your baseline and that one line in your phone. When you come back for week two, you start from that line instead of from zero, which saves you a good chunk of the hour, and then week three is when you test the change with a second club to see whether it travels. Week four you pull up week one and compare.

TrackMan stores your session data, and there's a free TrackMan app, so you aren't going off memory, you're looking at last month's number sitting next to this week's. Every bay has TrackMan, every visit, so which bay you land in doesn't change anything, and that matters because a number only really means something when you've got an older one to hold it up against.

Will it fix your game? We're not going to promise that and nobody honest can. You will know whether your miss is getting better, or staying put, and that's more than a lot of practice gives you.

What's in the bay (and what isn't)

You'll be hitting Titleist Pro V1 practice balls on TrackMan, and you can work off a virtual range or play a course when you'd like to see how a fix holds up for a few holes. There's slow-motion video in the bay too and you can send a swing right to your phone, which comes in handy on week four when you want the old swing next to the new one.

GEARS 3D is real and it's on site, but it books with Nick Duffy in a lesson, so it's not part of a practice session. Your practice hour is TrackMan and video, which is plenty for this plan anyway.

Lefty or righty, you're welcome. Every bay works for both.

We're also home of Athletic Motion Golf, the method Mike Granato and Shaun Webb built. You don't have to know any of that to practice here. It's mostly why the room's set up the way it is.

Your first visit from Clermont

Never been in, or it's been a while? Keep the first visit pretty simple.

Think about your last round, whatever miss bugged you most, go with that, and then book a bay. The bay rental page has the current first-hour offer on it, so look there before you book since it can change. Bring the club that shows the miss, and one's enough to start, really, then run the hour like we laid out above, write your line, and head home.

And no, you don't need a membership to rent a bay. Just try it once, see if the plan clicks.

When the four weeks turn into your midweek

Say week four goes well and you want to keep it going. That's what membership's for.

Right now the membership page lists 4 hours a month for $79 or 12 hours a month for $167, and both of those cap at 2 hours a day. If you think you'll be in a lot, unlimited is $299 a month, with up to 3 hours a day, and family can join you in your bay. There's no long-term contract, though if you do cancel it has to be in writing.

Membership includes private TrackMan bay access, video swing analysis, and discounted lessons with an AMG Certified Instructor, so think of it as a standing practice block more than a party pass.

If you'd rather have a coach look at your miss than work it out alone, you can book a lesson with Nick Duffy. Totally optional, and you can just as easily keep practicing on your own.

And if clubs start coming up during all this (sometimes the miss isn't you), club fittings happen in the same building. Start at the club fitting page.

Quick answers

Is this real practice or a night-out simulator room?

Real practice. Private bays with TrackMan in every one, and you can still play a course for fun, it's just not what this hour's for.

I live in Clermont. Is it worth the trip?

That's your call, and we won't throw a drive time at you. What we can say is the four-week plan is built so each trip picks up from the last one instead of starting over.

Do I need a membership to practice?

No, you can rent a bay without one.

Does a practice session include GEARS 3D?

No. GEARS books with Nick Duffy in a lesson, and practice hours use TrackMan and slow-motion video.

Can I track my numbers from week to week?

Yes. TrackMan stores your session data and the TrackMan app is free, so if you pair that with the one line you keep in your phone after each session, you end up with a pretty real practice log without having to set anything fancy up, and you can look back at week one whenever you want.

Can I bring my own balls?

The bays use Titleist Pro V1 practice balls. You'd need staff approval first to use your own.

Is it set up for lefties?

Yep. Every bay works for lefties and righties.
