Family Golf Membership in Winter Garden: One Bay, the Whole Crew

Here's how it usually goes. One of you plays. Then the kid wants to try. Then your spouse says they'd come along if it wasn't so hot out. And suddenly you're searching family golf membership Winter Garden at eleven at night.

Fair enough. Golf with your family is a lot of fun when it's easy, and it falls apart fast when it isn't.

At Athletic Motion Golf Club we're indoors, in a private TrackMan bay, with nobody waiting behind you. Your kid can top three in a row and nobody sees it but you. That's kind of the whole pitch.

What a family golf week actually looks like

Think about your real week for a second. Not the ideal one.

Maybe Tuesday night is the only window. Soccer's done, dinner's done, and everybody's a little restless. You book an hour, you all pile into the bay, and the kids take turns hitting while you sneak in a few swings between them.

Then Saturday you come back alone and actually work on something. Same membership. Different hour.

That's what we mean by a family week. It's not one big outing a month. It's a bunch of small ones that fit around everything else you've got going on.

How the membership handles family

This is the part people ask about most, so let's be clear about it.

On the Unlimited plan, a family membership's included. The way our memberships page puts it, your immediate family is welcome to join you in your bay.

On the other plans, you can add up to three immediate family members to your membership level for a small fee per person. After you sign up, email us or stop by the front desk and we'll get the add-ons set up. We're not going to quote that fee here. Ask the front desk and they'll tell you what it is right now.

And yes, this works for couples too. Two adults sharing a bay on a weeknight is a family week as much as a parent and two kids is.

Which plan fits your family

We don't post prices in this article. They live on the memberships page, and that's where you'll see the current numbers. What we can do is walk through the plans by hours, because hours are what actually decide this.

There are three. A 4 hours a month plan, up to 2 hours a day. A 12 hours a month plan, also up to 2 hours a day. Then Unlimited, which lets you stay up to 3 hours a day.

Hours don't have to go in one chunk. Two in a row on Saturday, one on a random Wednesday, whatever your week allows. With kids, that's huge. Somebody always has a practice that moved.

Let's say it's you and one kid, and you come in maybe twice a month for an hour or so. The 4 hour plan probably covers it. You'd still want to sort out the add-on for your kid with the front desk.

Now say there's four of you, and somebody wants to come in most weeks. Hours go quick when everybody's taking a turn. That's when people start looking at Unlimited, partly because the family piece is already built in, and partly because 3 hours a day gives you room on a long Saturday.

Then there's 12 hours a month. A steady weekly habit, a couple of people sharing it. Honestly, the easiest way to pick is to count how many times you'd really come in a month, not how many times you hope you would.

Your first family visit, step by step

Not ready to commit? Totally fine. You don't need a membership to rent a bay. Grab one through bay rental and try it as a family first.

Here's roughly how that first visit goes.

You walk in, check in at the front desk, and head to your bay. It's private. We have 8 private TrackMan bays for rental, so it's your group in your space, with the screen right there.

Bring whatever clubs you've got. Kids' clubs, hand-me-downs, the set from the garage. Lefties and righties are both welcome in every bay, so nobody in the family gets left out. Just wear shoes without metal spikes or nubs.

Then you hit. TrackMan shows where every shot went. The kids will love the numbers, trust me. Some will argue about ball speed for an hour if you let them.

You can also have slow-motion video sent to your phone. Good for the ride home. Or for dinner, when somebody swears their swing looked way better than that.

We use Titleist Pro V1 practice balls. Small thing, but your kid's hitting the same ball a lot of serious players do.

What's included, and what isn't

A membership gets you private TrackMan bay access, in-bay video recording for swing analysis, and discounted lessons with an AMG Certified Instructor. Members also get up to 80% off standard rental rates on bay time.

No contract, either. You can cancel any time in writing, by email or at the front desk. You keep access through the rest of your prepaid term, and there aren't refunds, kind of like a gym.

What's not in there? GEARS 3D. That books separately as a lesson with Nick Duffy, in our dedicated GEARS lesson and studio bay. It isn't part of every membership hour.

Overall, the building has 9 TrackMan bays: 8 private rental bays plus a dedicated GEARS lesson and studio bay. Members book the rental bays. GEARS stays with Nick.

When a kid wants real coaching

Sometimes the kid gets hooked. It happens.

Lessons can be booked a la carte, so you don't need a membership for that. If your kid wants a lesson, Nick Duffy's the person to talk to. Nick works off TrackMan and video. GEARS 3D's there too, booked as its own session with him. The lessons page has his booking.

Is there an age minimum? We don't have a number to give you here. Call us and ask before you book a lesson for a younger kid.

Close to home in Winter Garden

We're on Winter Garden Vineland Rd, so for a lot of families out this way it's an easy run after school or on a weekend morning. You know your own drive better than we do.

And the weather never cancels the plan. That alone sells some parents on it. Summer afternoon storms don't care about your Tuesday night.

If you'd like the general version of how our memberships work, there's a separate Winter Garden membership post too. This one's just about the family side of it.

Questions families ask us

Can my kids come into the bay with me?

On Unlimited, yes, immediate family can join you in your bay. On the other plans you'd add them for a small fee per person, up to three family members. The front desk sets that up after you sign up.

How much is the family add-on?

We don't list it in this post. The front desk knows it. Just ask when you come in.

Do family members share my hours?

Your plan's hours are the hours you book. When the whole crew's in the bay together, that's one booking. Worried about running short? Count last month's free evenings. That's usually your answer.

Is it okay for a lefty kid?

Absolutely. Lefties and righties are welcome in every bay and in lessons with Nick, GEARS ones included. Nobody needs to call ahead about it.

Is there a minimum age?

We don't have one to quote here. Give us a call at the number below and ask, especially for little ones.

What if we stop using it?

Cancel in writing, by email or at the front desk. There's no contract. You'll still have access through what you've already paid for, but there aren't refunds.

Can my teenager take lessons without a membership?

Yep. Lessons are a la carte. Book with Nick Duffy on the lessons page, membership or not.

We're in Horizon West. Is this close enough?

Plenty of families from around there come in. We won't put a minute count on the drive, but we're in Winter Garden, so check the map from your house and see how it feels.

Try it with the family

Take a look at the plans on memberships. Or book a single hour through bay rental first and see if the kids are into it. Questions? Just call.
